Georgian Academy of Sciences Jondo Japaridze Date of birth: 01.01.1933 Professor. - 1963-Candidate of Chemical Science (Ph.D.) (Moscow, Institute of Electrochemistry); - Has been working in the field of Electrochemical Kinetics, metal/solution interface, adsorption and kinetics in non-aqueous solutions. Professor of the Georgian Tecnical University in the field of Physical Chemistry (1975 - 1990). Has trained 19 Candidates of Sciences and consulted 3 Doctor degree dissertations. - Has established an electrochemical kinetics laboratory in Georgia, for 14 years has served as Deputy Director of R.Agladze Institute of Inorganic Chemistry and Electro-chemistry on Scientific issues, from 1995 to date has been working as the Director of this Institute. - He has been awarded the First Mendeleev Prize twice. - He is Chairman of the Republican Coordinating Council in the field of electrochemistry, Head of Electrochemical Physics section of the Georgian Electrochemical Society, he is also a foreign member of the editorial board of "Electrochemistry" magazine. He is a former member of the Soviet Scientific Council on Electrochemistry. - For fruitful scientific and pedagogical activity he was awarded an Honorary Diploma by the Presidium of the Georgian Supreme Council in 1983.
