Georgian Academy of Sciences Presidium of Georgian Academy of Sciences The Academy of Sciences of Georgia is governed by its Presidium, a collective executive body elected each five years by General Meeting of the Academy. At present it consists of the President, three Vice Presidents, the Chief Scientific Secretary, nine Academician-Secretaries (Heads of the Departments of the Academy). The Presidium carries out the decisions of General Meeting of the Academy and, in a period between sessions of the Meeting, supervises over all activities of the Academy. Being accountable to the Meeting, the Presidium reports General Meeting of the Academy on major decisions accepted. For decision of current scientific-organizational tasks.
