Marlen Gordeziani

Marlen Gordeziani was born in 1938, July 29.
He is a Doctor of Biological Sciences and from 1997 an Associate Member of Georgian Academy of Sciences. He has published more than 60 works in Biochemistry.
In 1975 he maintained master's degree on thesis "Correlation of Oxidative transformation of Glucose and Glutamine Acide in Vine", and in 1992 Doctor's degree on "Monooxygenases of Higher Plants and Their Role in Xenobiotic Detoxication".
The main sphere of a search is to determine plants potential abilities in xenobiotic detoxication and to study the regulatory mechanisms of these processes.
Marlen Gordeziani is a chief of the laboratory of Biological Oxidation of Durmidhidze Institute of Plant Biochemistry. Under his guidance 4 thesis on master's degree and 1 on Doctor's degree were worked out. He is a coauthor of 4 monographs. He cooperated with the Design office of Academy of Sciences in construction a new type of equipment "Bioenergometer".
Marlen Gordeziani is a member of academic council of the Institute of Plant Biochemistry and a member of Specialized academic degrees awarding council.
