Director of P.Gugushvili Institute of Economics of the Georgian Academy of Sciences.

In 1980 maintained a cand. thesis in Moscow at CEMI of the Academy of Sciences of the former Soviet Union.
In 1990 took a Doct. degree at the Committee of studying productive forces at the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences.

Subject of study: microeconomics, ecological-economic and economic-mathematical, is a professor of economic cybernetics chair at Tbilisi State University.
is the Chairman of Working Committee of economic and juridical reforms of the Georgian Academy of Sciences, the Chairman of the Council of maintaining thesis at the Institute of Economics, a member of the scientist experts Council, Sub-editor of the journal "Proceedings" of the Institute of Economics.
In 1984 was rewarded with a special prize and medal of the Georgian Academy of Sciences for the monograph "The Problems of Optimization of Economic Processes of Nature Use", Tbilisi "Metsniereba".
