Petre Merabishvili

Professor was elected as a correspondent member of the Georgian Academy of Sciences on the speciality-power engineering of the department of Applied Mechanics, Mechinbuilding Industry and Control.

Birth Date - 28 November 1935.

In 19964 at Moscow Institute of Automation and Telemechanics of the Academy of Sciences of USSR he wrote the thesis "Two dimension high accuracy following system applicable to the longitudinal electroerosion metal cutting installation" and received the academic degree - Candidate of Technical sciences (Ph.D.).

In 1983 he received the academic degree - Doctor of Technical Sciences at Kiev Electrodynamics Institute of Ukrainian Academy of Sciences. The title of the doctorate thesis is "Spectral-operator Method and Analyze of Dynamic of Electromagnetic Processes of System with the Valve Convertors".

The main scientific research field of Prof. P. Merabishvili is Power Electrical Engineering.

Prof. P. Merabishvili is head of Department and dean at the Georgian Technical University. He is the chairman of the Council of Learned Experts of Georgia, the member of the Council of the Georgian Technical University, the Chairman Of the special Council that to be authorized to consider thesises.

Prof. P. Merabishvili is a member of the International Electrotechnical Academy of Sciences in Moscow (elected in 1997), a corresp. member of the Georgian Engineering Academy (elected in 1996), a member of the Georgian National Power Engineering Academy (elected in 1995).

He got a bronze medal of the Exhibition of Achievements of Development of People Economy of USSR (in 1985) and Honor medal of Georgia (in 1995).
