Levan Chilashvili

Date of Birth: August 17, 1930

Doctor of History, Professor, Academician of Georgian Academy of Sciences, Archaeologist.

In 1958 maintained a Candidate Thesis "Town of Rustavi (historical-archaeological essay)".
In 1967 maintained Thesis for a Doctor's Degree "Towns of Feudal Georgia".

Main field of scientific activity - archaeologic-historical research of medieval towns.

L.Chilashvili is a Professor of the Tbilisi State University.
Director of the Georgian State Museum. Honoured Scientist of the Republic of Georgia (1982).

In 1982 he was awarded the Prize of Academician S.Djanashia.
