Scientific contacts, joint subjects:

An international research programme “Optical monitoring of unique astronomical objects” in collaboration with the Sternberg Astronomical Institute (GAISH) in Moscow. The X-ray source Cyg X-1 and Wolf-Rayet stars are being investigated on the basis of photoelectric measurements in the 4 colour uvgr system.

An international scientitic programme “Astroseismology” in collaboration with the Universität Wien, the Multiple Mirror Telescope Observatory (Tucson, Arizona), Odessa State University (Ukraine), the Astrophysical Institute (Kazakhstan) and the Astronomical Institute (Uzbekistan);

An international research programme “Helioseismology” in collaboration with the Universitè de Nice (France), the Universitá di Roma “La Sapienza” (Italy), the Astronomical Institute (Uzbekistan) and Moscow State University (Russia);

A research programme “Theory of geostationary satellites” in collaboration with the Main Astronomical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Pulkovo, Russia).

The Upper Atmosphere Department is collaborationg with the University of Toronto on investigationg planetary and regional-scale size dynamical processes in the upper atmosphere.

The Observatory is collaborating with the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory (Ukraine) to study solar coronal holes.

The Abastumani Astrophysical Observatory is also collaborating with institutions and individual scientists from Armenia, Azerbaijan, China, England, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Scotland, Spain and Turkey.

 Publications:

Bulletin of the Abastumani Astrophysical Observatory. Up to date 75 volumes of the Bulletin have been published (Unfortunately, because of hard financial situation, it has not appeared regularly in the last few years).
