Regularities of the central nervous system functional organisation, motivated behaviour, neural mechanisms of the phenomena of sleep, memory, and "drug addiction" (95 scientific papers, 2 monographs and 3 hand-books).

2000 – up to now – Chairman of Scientific Council and Director of I. Beritashvili Institute of Physiology;

2002 – up to present – Editor-in-chief of a scientific journal: Georgain Journal of Neurosciences.
